Pirates & a pre-July 4th show

Thursday was a busy day for me. I edited the message most of the morning, then took care of a few things concerning youth camp in the afternoon. I knew I was going to be gone for a couple of hours that night for worship band practice, so I went home a little early. Madi loves for me to make her a pirate hat out of her blanket. This time she insisted on me wearing one as well (and yes it's a pink pirate hat). I told her to make a mean face, but she wanted to be a nice pirate (is there such a thing? Jack Sparrow doesn't count, neither does Mr. Gibbs).

After practice I met Amber and Madi up at Trinity for the fireworks display. There were THOUSANDS of people that came out to watch the show. I loved seeing a big group of people there... until it was time for us to leave (I got there late, so I had to park in the back on the hill). It seemed like it took forever to get out of the parking lot!! While in line, my phone reminder went off. I am on the schedule to pray for Kaylee Daniels twice a day at 10:00. I tried to explain to Madi what Kaylee was doing this summer. Long story short, we both prayed for her in the truck while we were in line waiting to leave. Madi prayed that God would protect Kaylee from the alligators, lions, and bears (I would say, "oh my", but there were no mention of any tigers).
