Last week we began a new series for the month of July entitled, "Motiv-8". The underlying question asked each week is this, "WHY DO YOU DO WHAT YOU DO?".
Everything we do, good or bad we do because of a payoff - on a deeper level we would call it a motive. This week we looked at the motive of FEAR from the perspective of Abraham and Sarah in Genesis 20. When fear is our motive...
- It keeps us from God's best
- It keeps us from taking risks
- We don't get out of the boat
- We will never reach our full potential
- We don't go out on a limb (which is where the fruit is)
- We play it safe (Luke 19:20-21) & a safe life is a boring life
There are a few other consequences ofhaving FEAR as our motive. In short here they are:
1. Sin will begin to creep in
2. It can cause others to be put in bad situations
3. You can influence others to sin
4. It doesn't only affect you, it affects everyone around you.

this message totally is changing my way of doing things. It seems we all have a problem with fear getting in the way of what God wants for our lives, so that He may be glorified!
