Missed it!!

This morning, as I was spending some time with God, Oz had sometihing interesting to say, (You can read today's here). He said:

"Whenever we realize we have not taken advantage of a magnificent opportunity, we are apt to sink into despair. But Jesus comes and lovingly says to us, in essence, "Sleep on now. That opportunity is lost forever and you can’t change that. But get up, and let’s go on to the next thing." In other words, let the past sleep, but let it sleep in the sweet embrace of Christ, and let us go on into the invincible future with Him."

I love to surf! (Well, at least try to.) When your surfing, timing is everything. If you don't paddle into a wave when you see one, you'll miss it. If you miss one, you should pack it up and go home! Of course not, that'd be stupid! Everyone knows that another wave is just moments away (here in Jacksonville it may be a "many moments" away). If you miss it, you just look for the next one and take it!

Ever missed an opportunity? Sure you have and so have I. It makes us feel terible! Sometimes we think, "Well, that's not happening again, better pack it up and go home." It's true, some missed opportunities will never come back around, others may. One thing is for sure, God wants you to get back up and grab the next opportunity. In the words of Oz, "Let the past sleep & let us go on with Him!"
