What lies within (part 1)

Some of my favorite times at church are actually after it's over. I love to just hang around and talk to people. This Sunday I was talking to a guy who most of you know. He has been going through some tough times lately. He was telling me of yet another thing that came into his life. Man, he's really going through it.

I thought about the message Tommy preached moments ago. In light of his circumstances I said to him, "That was a good message wasn't it". He was involved in another ministry that morning & hit his Sunday School instead of the second service. I told him to get the CD. For those of you who didn't hear it, Tommy preached a message about God being right on time. Here are a few things that spoke to me...

  • God is never early, God is never late ,God is always on time!

  • God is completely aware of what has come into your life in the past and what will come into your life in the future.
While we may disagree, God's timing is perfect. Many times it may seem like God does things at the most inopportune time. But, we must remember that God sees the whole timeline. Like the TV show in the 50's-60's, we must remember that "Father Knows Best". God does know what is best for us. Even though we may temporarily disagree, in the end we are amazed at God's timing. Through it all, God gives something special that lies inside each of His children. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said...

"What lies behind us
& what lies before
us are small matters
compared to what
lies within us."

- Ralph Waldo Emerson

What lies within us is The Holy Spirit. He helps us understand, when we don't really get it. He gives us peace, when we feel anxious and unstable. He intercedes for us, when we don't know what to pray. He helps us make it through, when we feel like giving up. What's gonna hit us this year? We don't know, but God does & though we may be, He is never surprised by it. He knows what it is, and when it will happen, and who will bring you through it, the HOLY SPIRIT!

So how does the Holy Spirit bring us through??? Leave your thoughts in a comment on this post. Otherwise, check back tomorrow for my thoughts on how God uses the Holy Spirit to bring us through.
