Sunday morning as I was driving to church I came across a squirrel. He ran half way across the road, then went left, then right, then left, then right, then... I didn't feel a bump, but I did see in my rear view mirror the little creature twitching in the road. The problem: hesitation.
We hesitate because we loose confidence in God or in ourselves. I can do a back flip off the side of a picnic table (or at least I use to be able to). Once I was at the beach and thought I could flip backwards off the top railing... there was sand around, soft landing right? I climbed up and went for it - the only problem was that I hesitated halfway into the rotation... I almost broke my neck. Halfway through I didn't believe I had what it took to do it, I lost confidence.
- What is it God wants you to do?
- What is it you have been thinking about?
- What is it you know you need to do?
- What is it that God keeps bringing to your mind?
- What is it that consumes you, but your too afraid?
JUST DO IT!! Don't hesitate. When we hesitate we can hinder ourselves from our God given destiny. When we hesitate we leave too much room for ourselves, the devil, our "friends", those that intimidate us, our family members, and others to talk us out of what we KNOW we need to do. Don't lose confidence in yourself, especially don't lose confidence in God! If you have enough confidence to start... you should have enough to finish.
If you KNOW where you need to be & what you need to do then what are you waiting for?? If you know you need to "get to the other side of the road", go for it. Don't stop and think too hard about it in the middle of the road.
Hesitation can hurt you, it can hinder you, and if your a squirrel it could kill you!
