Wednesday night we began a new series entitled "Unmasked". For the month of October we are unveiling the masks we wear: Denial, Greed, False Humility, Innocence, and Unqualification. We started of with the mask of denial.

We looked at Peter...

A man who walked on water

A man who was at the transfiguration

A man who went to cut a dude's head off to protect Jesus

A man who swore up and down that he would never wear the mask of denial

A man who cussed a group of people out and swore he didn't know who Jesus was

Peter denied Christ... and wept over it, but he got back up and was used by God in huge ways to start the church in Acts 1-5. Satan wants us down, feeling sorry for ourselves, feeling like God can't use a person like us. Jesus wants us to confess our sin of denial, and stand back up and go forth to be used by him. No one is perfect, we have all screwed up and put on the mask of denial. Peter was a failure in the crowd but a pillar in the church! Do like Peter did, confess your sin, and stand back up for Him!
