Here are the messages from camp. To listen to all of them from the blog you will probably have to refresh the page (just re-click the post title). You can always go to our podcast page or find us in the podcasts section of itunes under "pluthministry".
Session 1: Friday night - John 4 (Kevin Connell)
Powered by Podbean.com
I opened camp talking about Jesus and the woman at the well from John 4. The first night we challenged our students and leaders to think about the next step of FAITH for their lives. One thing that was pointed out in this message is this - That things we hold onto in our life keep us from God's best!
Session 2: Saturday morning - Exodus 15 (Aaron Caulder)

Aaron Caulder challenged us in this message to own our faith. He charged us to stop complaining about our circumstances and just trust God. One thing that stuck out to me is when Aaron looked our students in the eyes and told them, "You guys are going to run circles around us!" That's true, we will hand the baton over to them and they will run circles around us in ministry!
Session 3: Saturday night - Matthew 8 (Johnny Bowman Sr.)

Johnny challenged us in this message with this question right off the bat, "Would you follow Jesus into a storm?" He said following Jesus WILL lead you into a storm, but in the middle of the storm (in the center of His will) there is peace! Johnny reminded us that storms produce 4 things: 1. uncertainty, 2. fear & anxiety, 3. isolation, and ... 4. an opportunity for God to do something!!
Session 4: Sunday morning I preached on Moses and the Red Sea... unfortunately something went wrong and we didn't get the recording. Sunday night we had an incredible communion service!! You can listen to it here.
Session 5: Monday night - John 2 (Kevin Connell)
Powered by Podbean.com
In this message I simply challenged everyone to follow the advice of Jesus' mom. Her advice was this in John 2:5, "Whatever He says to you - do it!" From the story of Jesus turning water into wine, we saw that when we do what He tells us to do, the outcome is always WAY better than it would be if we did things our way.
Session 6: Tuesday morning - Matthew 14 (Shawn Sherwood)
Powered by Podbean.com
Shawn challenged us in this message to "get out of the boat". One thing that stuck out from Shawn's message was this, "If you'll get out of the boat Jesus will hold your hand." This was a special message for Shawn because in just a few days he was "getting out of the boat" to leave everything in Jacksonville and go to Dallas with Aaron for seminary.
Y'all know how much I like visuals... I'll share with you a quick story.
Shawn and I really wanted a boat to preach from during this message. Seriously 10 minutes before the service I began walking down the road (there were many beach houses on it). I knew God was going to give us a boat. I walked halfway down, looking frantically for a boat! I couldn't find one so I began to walk back (but I knew God was going to let us borrow one). I kept rehearsing in my mind, "Sir I know this sounds weird, but can I borrow your boat?". It sounded absurd to myself! The 2nd house from the camp I looked over and there was a 12 foot Jon boat! I wasn't surprised one bit when the owner let us take the boat from her yard and carry it into the meeting room!Sean had no idea that I found one, when he started to preach Brad Burns and I walked it in over our heads and set it down right in front of him. It was a great visual for an incredible message.
I knew God was going to give us a boat, I just had to have "faith" and believe Him for it!
