In January, God did something in our student ministry that was pretty incredible. I'm still in awe of God over it. We taught through a series entitled Legendary. It was all about average people becoming legendary for the glory of God. It seems like every week or two that word legendary comes up. Today was no exception, this afternoon I witnessed legendary beginnings in two of our students lives.
Justin Locke graduated from Robert E. Lee High School as the salutatorian. A few weeks ago he signed everyone's yearbook leaving them with the hope of the gospel! Today in his salutatorian speech he left his fellow class mates with a challenge of making the most of every moment. If you'd like to hear his graduation speech here it is...
From there I traveled to the Jacksonville International Airport. We gathered around Kaylee Daniels and prayed for her just before she got on a plane (well, many planes) that took her to the Philippines. There she will spend two months of the summer taking the gospel to people who have never heard it... truly legendary. Please pray for her this summer. If you would like to get in on a round the clock prayer chain for her please contact Aaron Caulder. There are three slots open 12, 1, and 2 (am & pm). We would like to have someone praying for her around the clock on the hour. Even if you can't commit to these times, let Aaron know what hour you can commit to.
There are many ways to make a legendary impact on your world, wheather it's here in Jacksonville or the other side of the world in the Philippines. What's your part in making Jesus known?
How can you touch your world with the hope of Jesus Christ and live a legendary life for His glory?
