Monday worship

Charile Hall has been my worship leader for the past two days... let me back up, for the past two weeks I haven't listen to anything as I drove down the road in my truck. So for the past two days I have been consumed with worship music.

This morning I was thinking about worship on Sunday. We all do a great job worshipping God on a Sunday morning (well most of us do, some look like they would rather drink the fat off a George Foreman grill). But is it really worship?

Driving down the road this morning worshipping in my truck, God showed me something...

"Worship means nothing on Sunday, unless it means something on Monday."

It's so easy to go thru the motions and "get your worship on" in a Sunday service when everyone's watching. But is it real? Are we really expressing to God how wonderful He, or do we sing because we're supposed to? Worship must come from the overflow of your relationship with God. If your not worshipping during the week, does it make sense that you pull it together spiritually and worship on Sunday?

You can tell when someone is giving you an insincere compliment or praise on a job well done. What makes us think any different about God. I think insincere worship makes God nauseous. I wonder how many times He wants to tell us, "I'd much rather have your worship on Monday than on a Sunday."

Hey Kevin,

Great quote: "Worship means nothing on Sunday, unless it means something on Monday."

I want to be sure and pass that along to my daughter next Monday morning - her last Monday of school before summer! (Woo-who!)

Anyway, great thought!
