Voddie

Yesterday afternoon I slipped up to the Pastor's Conference at FB downtown. I was really going to hear Voddie Bachum, but I got there early and heard Jay Strack. I 'm not a big fan of Strack, but what he had to say about leadership was pretty good. Here are a few highlights:

• Be approachable

• Be loyal! Loyalty attracts loyalty

• Delegate responsibility according to ability (not friendship)

• If you can accomplish your vision without a team, it's not of God

• If you go it alone, your not leading

Then Voddie Bachum got up to speak. Seriously I was blown away at what the man had to say. He came out of 2 Timothy chapter 4. In a nut shell he challenged us to simply "preach the word". It was 40 minutes long, but seemed like 4. I was inspired and challenged. I just sat there for a few moments after he spoke (kind of like after watching the Passion of the Christ for the 1st time). Voddie is a genuine man that I admire. After pulling myself together, I went to meet Voddie. I am so mad, the camera on my phone was on zoom!!! Here's all I got! Oh well, though I'm mad that I didn't check it first, it still makes me laugh everytime I see this picture!
