Today was my first day back in the office in a long time! Seems like I have been gone forever! Right before lunch today, I went and grabbed a cup full of sunny California Raisins! Wow, when you're starving... they were good! Taste like pure sugar! Well, not exactly. Let me explain. See today as I got to the bottom of the cup, I saw a couple of things crawling around. Yeah, it was weevils! Disgusting, let me puke! What was weird was that I wasn't nauseous or anything. I guess it was a little extra protein. The thing about it was that I didn't know it until I was well into my cup of raisins!
Last week at the writing team the subject of pride came up. I was talking to another guy about the subject as he was showing me something about myself in dealing with an editor. I won't share with you what he shared with me , but it was a real eye opener for me. I couldn't see it, until someone pointed it out, then it was too late. - Like the weevils! If we aren't careful sin and pride can creep up into our life undetected. We are usually blind to the err of our way. It's good when a friend (whom you respect) pulls you aside and says, "Hey dude - not sure you're aware of it, but here's what I see in your life." What weevils do you have crawlin around undetected? Pray that someone reveals them to you. What weevils do you see in someone you care about? Is God telling you to share it with them - in a loving manner? I sure do wish someone told me, "Dude - not sure you are aware of it, but there's weevils in your raisins!"
