Last night was our first night of the new year back in the student ministry. Aaron Caulder brought us a message of encouragement. Here's the link to listen on the podcast. He encouraged us to use our talents for God in 2008. We spent a few moments affirming and edifying one another verbally. In the end Aron challenged us to be used by God with whatever talents we had and to see God in two arena's of our life this year: 1. Our appointments & 2. our disappointments! Here are a few highlights from the message...
- Air travels out of your nose 100mph when you sneeze. (So does snot - that can seriously be dangerous! Anyone ever been hit with a "snot-rocket?")
- There are over 100,000 hairs on the average person's head. (David Crowder has 700,000)
- An eyelash has a 150 day lifespan (eyelashes from girls that use the eyelash pain curl thingy probably only live half as long. "Ouch, why do ya'll use those things?!?")
- If your stomach doesn't produce an extra layer of mucus every two weeks it will digest itself. ("stomach mucus"...wow that's gross!)
- The average head weighs 8 lbs (How did they figure that one out?!? "Sir, now just relax your head here on this block, pay no attention to the blood.")
- Moses didn't want to be used by God in the capacity that God wantded to use him
- How can God use what you hold back from Him?
- Within the realm of your talents, you can uniquely be used as an influence for God
- "God, don't let me be where I was before _______."
- Look for God in your daily appointments
- Look for God in your disappointments
- 2007 is gone, you can't do anything about it except move forward!
