Legendary: Noah

Powered by Podbean.com

Last night we continued in our series on becoming legendary for God (click here to listen on our podcast page). We looked at a man who was the only one at the time, on the face of the earth, who was walking with God. Though he was alone, he walked with God. Result: God used him in a legendary way!

God told Noah: to build a boat, that it was gonna rain, and that a flood was coming. None of which he had ever seen before. Yet, he did all that God had commanded him to do (Genesis 7:5). For 120 years he steadily worked to build a boat. Once it was done, he, his family, and tons of animals got into the boat and began to wait.

It didn't rain for a week later...

Can you imagine the ridicule? People must have gathered outside the boat and laughed as Noah and his family went in the Ark. They laughed hard... until the first drop of rain came plummeting down to the earth. In the words of Astro, "Ruh-Row".

God told Noah to cover the ark, inside and out with pitch (Genesis 6:14), a word used everywhere else in the bible for words like: atonement, forgiveness, and mercy. That pitch kept the judgement waters of God away. The only way to escape the judgment of God was on that boat... (John 14:6).

It's tragic to think about it, but every little kid, toddler, teenager, father, aunt, uncle, brother, sister, infant, mother, and grandparent fought to keep their head above water. Thousands we probably banging on the side of the boat yelling, "LET US IN!"... it was too late, the judgment of God had come. One by one they slipped under the water.

God used Noah to save mankind and to change the world. Why Noah?
  1. He was an average person

  2. He walked with God
