This morning we went to a church called Discovery Church. It began in 2004. This particular campus meets in a movie theatre. They had two people tag team a message on what it means to be blessed, connecting with the body of Christ. Both speakers spoke of the importance of fellowship, relationships with other believers. They talked a lot about small groups, a buzz phrase that has been sweeping the church for years now. One of the guys made a good point. He said if you don't feel connected after four weeks of being in a small group (such as Sunday school)... then he said, "duh, you can't connect very much with anyone in four hours, it takes time."
He's right, it takes time to connect with a small group. Are you connected to a small group bible study? Do you feel like people don't reach out to you? Maybe the problem lies with you? Do you make an effort to reach out to others? Keep at it, it takes time to connect with others. It's well worth the investment. You can't survive spiritually with out connecting with other believers. Fellowship matters! As for the Discovery Church, the movie theatre was a great atmosphere, but by far one of my favorite things was worshipping to David Crowder's, "Here is our King!"
