Last night we began a short series called Foundations. We began the night with this video. CLICK HERE to watch it if you can't watch it on the screen below.
Foundations are importaint. Our spiritual life depends on them. The question is what are we building on? Paul said this in 1 Corintinah 3:10...
"According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building upon it. But let each man be careful how he builds."
So what are you building on? An emotional foundation that is build on week to week experiences or are you building on a relationship with Jesus Christ, building with the truth of scripture everyday. Are you building with what you get from church week to week, or what you get from the bible day to day?
Jesus said in Matthew 7:24 that, "everyone who hears these words, and does them will be wise." What were "these words"? Jesus was talking about the previous three chapters. It was Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, which is FULL of truths that we can build our life on. Everyone was challenged to build a relational foundation last night by reading through Jesus' Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7). If you break it down, it's 3 chapters, 108 verses total. If you take 15 verses a day, you can read it in a week. This week I challenge you to build your life on the truth of God's word. If you currently are - GREAT! But, if "its been a while" since you're read, you can begin this week by reading The Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5-7.
