Last night, September the 3rd was a special night. It was a night that we stood "on the brink" of something big... Look back to ONE YEAR AGO, where were you? Were you much different than you are now? Has God taken you places in your faith that your amazed at? Or are you like some people that look back and think, "Wow, I'm the same, not much has changed"... in my opinion, that's tragic.

How do we find and follow what God will bring before us this next year? Tonight we looked at four things that guarantee success in finding and following what God wants to do in our life this year.
We looked at the end of Deuteronomy and the beginning of Joshua , here's the story... Moses is about to be off the scene, Joshua is about to be on the scene - to lead a bunch of Israelites into the promised land. Anytime we find what God wants us to do, we can know that it's not going to be easy! Here's what God had to say to Joshua...
"No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you." - Joshua 1:5
- God will be with us - I can do anything if He is with me!
- God will never fail us - I will NEVER go wrong being obedient to Him!
- God will never leave us - I will ALWAYS have God by my side!
- If we know those 3 things we can really do ANYTHING God brings before us - right?
"Only be strong and very courageous; be careful to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may have success wherever you go." - Joshua 1:7 (nas)
In that one verse there are four principles that will lead us to successfully finding and following what God has for us - this year!
Be Strong
- It will get tough
- You will get tired
- You'll probably feel like quitting
Be Courageous
- It's going to get scary
- You're going to get intimidated
- If there's no element of fear... make sure you heard from God
Be Careful
- We have to DO what he tells us to do
- It's a temptation to just "think" about the bible, and not DO it
- Being a "doer" will separate you from being a "dreamer"
Be Focused
- Distractions WILL come
- If you have ADD, you're in trouble (kidding, but seriously pray for me)
- It would be a tragedy to be strong, courageous, and careful... & then get sidetracked
If we will apply these four principles, I believe there is one other thing that we will be and that is, "BE SUCCESSFUL" (Successful at finding and following what God brings before us - this year!)
It's September, you stand on the brink of something big this year... don't miss it!
