This is what happens when you aren't prepared for a storm!! Well, not exactly, yesterday and today I had a tree company come out and take care of two oak trees that were 75 and 100 feet tall.

There's no way I would do this!
I hate spending that kind of money, but one was dead and the other dying. If I didn't evaluate and prepare for the storm it could have cost me thousands of dollars in damage to my house.
I looked at this today and thought about preparation.
If you're not prepared for the storms that come into your life, it's going to cost you. In the midst of a storm we should be the calm ones that rest in the fact of God's sovereignty, but so often we're not. Oswald had great insights on this thought, you can read it here.
Those storms can all be put in one category, but there is one other "storm" that is in a category all alone. It is the storm of your eternal destination. For this, if your not "prepared", it will cost you forever!!
Two questions:
1. Are you preparing your self for the storms of life by spending time with your creator? The more we spend with Him, the closer we grow, the more "confidence" we have in Him as we go through the storm.
2. How secure are you in your eternal destination? If you died next week, would you be prepared to meet God? What would you tell him?
