"I know what I gotta do"

The aim of this week has been for students and leaders alike to see what the next step of faith is and to have to strength to move forward on it. Last night at 2am, I was talking with a couple of students. One said that they were frustrated because they didn't hear from God this week on what the next step of faith is for them... then he remembered that he gave his life to Christ the night before... sometimes the next step of faith is to fully surrender to Christ. There will be another step of faith down the road.

Another student asked a pretty tough question about reaching out to her friend in need of God... she said that she has given her all the "Sunday school" answers she can. That you can only go surface level for so long. This morning, just a few moments ago, she said, "I know what I gotta do". She just yielded to be used by God to reach this girl who is in serious need of God.

Shawn Sherwood just finished up the last bible study for us this morning with a challenge to "Get out of the boat". Here are a couple highlights of his message...

* Faith is directly related to OBEDIENCE, not convenience

* If you'll get out of the boat, Jesus will hold your hand

After the message, this young girl came up to me and said, "I know what I gotta do!" She knows it's a long process, but wants to be faithful. She said I just want to do it! She got up, went outside and called this girl she wants to reach for God! These students are responding to what God is specifically asking them to do. These students are getting out of the boat!
