Last night as I continued my journey through the gospels, I read John 1:36-37. Here's what I wrote in my journal...
"A real leader knows who to point his followers to - Jesus Christ! Godly leadership NEVER has a selfish agenda, it always seeks to magnify and glorify Jesus Christ."
Whether in middle school or in management, most of us lead at some level. If you want to be a godly leader, you have to two things...
1. Point people to Jesus, not yourself
Way to many of us lead from our own insecurities. Leadership should never have a selfish agenda. Leading people is about adding value to others. Leadership is about pointing people to JESUS not you (John 3:30, 15:5)
2. Not be afraid to let them go
After JTB said,"Look over there - Jesus!", they stopped following John and began to follow Jesus. The goal of leadership is to take people to another level. To do that, you have to let them go and let them follow Jesus as God has uniquely designed them to do.
