I walked out of my house this morning to find the oak trees dripping with fresh rain. I still drove down to the bridge. When I arrived there was no rain, just an overwhelming calm peacefulness. As we walked out to the dock, the water looked like a sheet of glass, it was so calm, so peaceful. After we prayed I was hoping to see God turn the cloud covered sky into a beautiful array of colors... He didn't.
Hey He's God, He can do as He wishes. It reminded me that God doesn't want us to worship Him just because of His breathtaking creation. He wants us to worship Him simply because He is God.
"Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." - Psalm 46:10 (nas)
Here's a shot of the other side of the bridge, where we pray. Even when we aren't in awe of His displayed creation, we can be in awe of His sovereignty and the peace He gives us, thank God for His peace!
