Our Mother's Day

As I write this the time reads 11:22pm, there is now 38 minutes left of Mother's Day. This is how our Mothers day went...

After church, we couldn't find anyone to go to lunch with (because they all were eating with their moms), so we decided to go to Sonny's. Note to self: don't go to Sonny's on Mothers Day . It was packed (duh, mothers day on the west side). When we finally got a table, the waitress says, "just to let you know there is a 25 minute wait on the food". It was every bit of 25, I got a salad bar with my meal and filled up on that before my cold, dried, overcooked pork came. (I am still full from lunch).

After that we went home, Lily went down for a nap, Amber and I (and Madi) went down for a nap on the couch. We were awakened by a sonic boom! Amber jumped off the couch to go check on Lily. A rather large limb fell off the ginormous oak tree right outside Lily's window.

From there we went outside to find limbs and leaves everywhere. It was so windy today (and hot). Madi was supposed to be watering the flowers for me, but she likes spraying water in the wind better. After calling my mother and grandmother to wish them a happy mothers day we came back in, cleaned up and got baths. We cleaned our mess of toys up too (it's the least we could do on Mothers Day).

Lily did an awesome job cleaning up all the crayons that were out... until the last one. I went to throw away a few things in the trash and when I turn around Lily Picasso had drawn us a beautiful mural on the wall. As I type on my laptop, it's still there. After the kids went down and the kitchen was cleaned, Amber and I sat down on the couch to watch a little TV together.

Oh yeah, what did Amber get for mothers day? I got her a digital camera, and some cards from the kids. They wrote her a poem. I'll share it with you...

From Madi to Mommy...
Happy Mother’s Day
Thank you for all you do
From doing my gopher book
To wiping my butt too

It’s been five years
Since that day in June 2003
When God blessed you in Orlando
By giving you a gift in me

You are such an awesome mommy
And your pretty good at the Wii
Even when you’re really tired
You make a good lunch for me

Thanks for all you sacrifice
I can tell it’s a ton
Happy Mother’s Day
From daughter number one!

From Lily to Mommy...

Happy Mother’s Day
To a very special mom
If I could twitter
I’d tell all “my mom’s the bomb.com!”

You do so much for me
Even when you are sick
Like cleaning up my poop
And your expensive lipstick

You make me so pretty
Putting in my hair a big bow
When you shop you get great deals
And dress me in cute clothes

Even though I’m a daddy’s girl
I’ll always belong to you
Happy Mothers Day
From daughter number two!

In short, that was our mothers day.

Hey man, thanks a lot on the comment for the blog. it was really a turning point for our student ministry, and it was all the talk at the schools. The only bad part is that my arms and legs were numb for the next couple of hours because of hanging upside down for 40 minutes before i was lowered down so it may it hard to repel the rope as i dropped it, when I talked "the men lowering the rope"

Hope all is well in FL.
