Everything else wil fall into place

As I write this blog, I sit on my front porch. A few moments ago, I spent some time out here praying. I was asking God what He wanted for me, not my ministry or what I could do for Him, but for me - what He wanted personally for me. I was brought back to a thought that I heard last week from a guy named Ed Stetzer. Ed said this, "we should lead out of a right relationship with God and a right relationship with our family." Everything else falls in line.

This two most important relationships you have is the one with your creator, and the one with your family. Really, nothing else matters. Why? Because if those two relationships are right, then you will be led by God in all you do.

Too many people (at times including myself... and you) try to lead from skill. Some people lead because they are great writers, great teachers, great speakers, great organizers, great cooks, great theologians, great musicians, have great personalities, or great charisma. That's "great", but it won't last, there will always be someone better than you. What you can't compete with is hearing from God and loving your family. Oh, if your single... just lead from your relationship with God. A right relationship with God breeds extreme confidence to lead!

Are you effectively leading? Feel like your not making a difference? Are you leading from your skill, or from your relationship with God and your family?

Nothing else matters... really, if those two relationships are right, you WILL be leading the way!! So, if your a pastor, director, Sunday school teacher, small group leader, a children's worker, or a facilities manager, lead from a right relationship with God and your family, everything else will fall into place.
