Total eclipse of the heart

Wednesday night after church when I walked outside I looked up and saw the moon! It was so bright I told Robby Scott I needed moon glasses to look at it! It was incredible; I couldn't help but think of the glory of God!

As you know, it was predicted that there would be a full eclipse that night. At about 10:30 I walked outside and saw the eclipse, dark dim, and tainted. WOW, Just two hours before, it was a brilliant white! Just two hours before!

Just two hours before, we were in awe of what God did through Nehemiah and what God can do through us – cup bearer or student. Two hours later, as the moon grew dim, I thought about how often we hear a message that sets our heart on fire, and in just two short hours, there is a total eclipse of the heart. What was it that the message about? Why do we forget about it so quickly? Why do we leave it at church and not take it with us?

As you know the light of the moon is just a reflection of the sun (that’s all our light is too, a reflection of the Son.) When the world we live on got in thy way and prevented the sun from shining on the moon – we saw an eclipse.

What’s getting in the way of your relationship with God? What in this world is preventing the light of Jesus to be reflected in your life? After a message God’s in control of our heart; two hours later - the world takes over. What is it that makes you forget what you heard in a message? What is it that is gives you a total eclipse of the heart?
