Anyone like Olive Garden??? I do! Except what I had today for lunch after church. I had some special entree that said something about chicken and rolled up lasagna. Sweet, so I thought! It was like a dried up noodle, with mushy ricotta cheese in it. I don't know, maybe it was the screamin' 19mo old who was way overdue for a nap? I think next time I'll just stick to my favorite: soup and salad (I love me some Zuppa Toscana!)Leaving the Garden, I ventured across the street to my favorite coffee shop (a small branch of stores originating in Seattle, Wa), Starbucks! With My Americano in hand I was at the red light waiting to turn into that lovely OP traffic. All of a sudden I heard what sounded like a large metal trashcan being dropped right outside my door. I look up and right in front of me was a little fender bender - I can't believe I missed it! From what it looked like, one dude - instead of stopping in the intersection, did the right thing and actually stopped before the light. Well, the old man behind him I guess didn't see him slowing down. Then, just like on Emeril...BAM! I thought, hey that guy did the right thing, not blocking the intersection and he still got banged up!
Just because you do the right thing doesn't mean you won't get banged & bruised up a little bit. Sometimes it's just the opposite. It's tough to do the right thing. I remember in the 9th grade, seeing a sign in our school library (yeah, I've been there before). It read:
Let me challenge you to do the right thing, no matter the consequences. Where has your integrity been challenged in? If you want to live right, if you want revival, it you want to be obedient to God... your integrity will be challenged. Satan's not gonna sit there and let you build your character without a fight. The choice is yours, you can take the easy route or you can take the tougher road of doing what's right. Just because you do the right thing, doesn't mean God won't keep you from getting a little bruised & banged up. If you disagree, when you get to heaven - talk to the Apostle Paul.
Who would you rather follow, someone who takes the easy way or someone who takes a tougher road... having the integrity to do the right thing?
