"Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional"

This morning we left for New Jersey, The alarm went off at 3:00am. Ahh the joys of flying with a 4yr old and an 18 month old. During the two hour chaotic flight, God let me see a glimpse of his glory. I snapped this picture from seat 22D just as the sun broke through the horizon. It was a moment of serenity... until it was interrupted by a loud scream and ice chunks flying through the cabin.

When we finally arrived, Madi and Lily ran around the house frantically. Lily found the dog cage. I think we may have stumbled upon something that may help GiGi and Grandpa babysit?!? This afternoon, we took a trip to the mall. As I observed thousands of people walking around, it seemed like everyone (well all the husbands at least) procrastinated in their Christmas shopping. I kind of laughed when I saw one husband with a candle holder, some PJ's, one of those 'as seen on TV' things, and a pack of quarter socks. Something for everyone in the family. At one point Madi and I sat outside Macy's while Amber and her mom shopped. You can only play I Spy so long. Madi and I were so bored out of our mind that we began to play with my new phone. We got a few stares & funny looks as people walked by. I think that was the most fun I had all day, just playing around and laughing hysterically with my daughter in public. When I got home I read an email someone sent me & I love what it said...

"Growing old is inevitable,
growing up is
optional"

Those of you who know me, know that pretty much describes me. I just love to laugh!!! I know I turned 31 yesterday. Last year I thought, "Well, I'm not in my 20's anymore, I guess I have to grow up now... Ehh, I'll wait till next year to start thinking about that. Let me ask you a question, "When was the last time you just laughed?" Are you too busy to? Got too much going on? Let me encourage you not to take yourself so seriously. All through the Bible I see that God has a sense of humor. Why do we have to be so serious all the time? Now, I know there's a balance, but most of us could use a little more laughter. Am I wrong about you? When was the last time you had a gut busting laugh? Hang around Aaron Caulder a little and I promise you will. Get out of your routine. Do something with friends or family that you haven't done in a while. Just laugh a little! Ask God for some laughter if you need to. Just take some time to laugh and enjoy this life God gave us!
