Here's the point

This morning one of the students came up to talk about something going on in their life. Rather than sit in my office which had pieces of ceiling tile all over the floor we went outside and sat on the picnic tables (By the way, the ceiling tile is all cleaned up as of right now. I even vacuumed!). As we were sitting outside reflecting on what God has been doing in their life, this student picked up a bug. We both looked at it in amazement, it screamed out the glory of God (not audibly, of course). Don't you ever see something, a sunset, a shooting star, a cloud formation, or an incredibly amazing bug and think - "You have got to be stupid to believe there isn't a creator God?!?" Well that was one of those moments for me.

About an hour later, I walked by the picnic table and the bug was still there! I was going to take a picture of it and share it with you. As I got in my office to get my camera... I got distracted by something else. 30 minutes later I grab my camera and went to take the picture. IT WAS GONE!!! I couldn't believe it. It was just hanging out for 2 hours, and now it was gone. "What's your point?" Here's the point, instead of blogging about the beauty of God's creation, I write about getting distracted and missing an opportunity. How beautiful can a bug be? This one was breath taking, reflecting the Glory of God and I missed a Kodak moment because I got distracted.

What distraction is keeping

you from seeing God?

What distracted me? I walked in my office and thought, I have got to put these Catalyst messages on my computer so they can go on my ipod. Putting preaching on your ipod is a good thing, but it distracted me from what I was originally going to do, capture a picture of God. Sometimes Satan will use good things in our life to keep us from seeing God. What might Satan be distracting you with in hopes to keep you from seeing God?
